Artistul 3D este responsabil de modelarea, montarea, animarea și adăugarea efectelor speciale a caracterelor, mediului înconjurător și a recuzitei.
Artiștii de caractere sunt mai interesați de învățarea anatomiei astfel încât să poată crea personaje realiste, caractere stilizate sau creaturi fantastice.
Artiștii orientați spre crearea mediului sau a recuzitei realizează orice detaliu necesar pentru a adăuga naturalețe materialelor.

Acesta este responsabil de crearea stilului și aspectului jocului. Este primul care desenează și imaginează personajele, mediul și celelalte elemente ale jocului.
Lucrează îndeaproape cu Art Directorul și schițează elementele jocului ca suport pentru echipa de creație în definirea aspectului jocului.
Predominant, lucrează cu instrumente grafice precum Photoshop și Illustrator, dar și cu dispozitive precum tablete grafice.
